Have you always wanted to try yoga, but feel intimidated walking into a studio? Have you been practicing for a while and are looking to refine the foundations of your practice?
 
Join Melissa for a 5 week beginners series, introducing you to the fundamentals of a Vinyasa (flow) yoga class. A nurturing and engaging learning environment for you to explore your potential and all the benefits yoga has to offer. This is a sequential series, each week builds upon the next and culminates with an integrated practice during our final week. Each week you will be provided with handouts as well as suggested areas to focus on between sessions.

  • Learn modifications that suit your body’s needs.
  • Increase breath and body awareness.

Restorative AcuYoga with Melissa Light Sat, Dec 9, 2017 at 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join Danielle Dupell, licensed Acupuncturist and Melissa Light, RYT-200/Health Coach, for an afternoon of restoration and relaxation.

Restorative AcuYoga is a blend of restorative yoga and acupuncture. During this three hour workshop you will be guided through a restorative yoga sequence, which will be followed by a balancing (optional) ear acupuncture treatment received during a 40 to 50 minute savasana (final resting pose).

Restorative yoga is a practice that helps you develop a deeper understanding of your ability to relax. It invites you to explore your capacity to be present, both within the body and mind, while approaching this space with an open heart. During this practice you will be guided through a sequence, exploring both passive and active poses, with the support of props (e.g. blocks, blankets, bolsters). It is by remaining present that we’re able to face the dualities in life, working our way through darkness in order to find the light.

Ear acupuncture involves the insertion of one to two acupuncture needles (which are thin, solid, single-use, and sterile) into various auricular points on each ear. The ear holds a microsystem, which means that there is a point on the ear that correlates to the entire body. The insertion of these needles elicits a therapeutic response and can improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Each month these workshops will focus on different energetics housed within the body that can become out of balance with the fluctuations within the seasons, as well as by daily stressors. By targeting the body from an energetic standpoint, it invites one to syncopate with nature’s rhythms, bringing mind, body, and spirit back into a state of balance.

*This practice is open to all levels, beginners are welcome.
*Acupuncture treatment is optional, if you decide to opt out please let us know ahead of time
*Pre-registration/payment is required as space is limited to 10 participants
*Cost is $60
*We require a 72 hour cancelation policy as space is limited.  No refunds will be issued, but an account credit can be issued for use at the studio if adequate notice is given.
*Please arrive 15 - 20 minutes early to get settled in

Join Donna Wilson-Gadue and Mike Warren for a winter solstice celebration.  A return to the light - an evening of Kundalini Yoga, meditation and music.  Winter solstice is the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere.  After winter solstice the days get longer.  The longest night of the year is a great time to practice yoga, meditation, and turn your focus inward to the light within.  A wonderful time to assess, re-focus, and set intentions for the new year ahead.
 
Donna will guide you through an all levels Kundalini Yoga practice, with Mike adding live music and guided mantra.  It's a night you don't want to miss!

Manifest Magic for 2018 - A Yoga and Vision Board Workshop with Melissa Light Sat, Dec 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Do you want to create BIG MAGIC in 2018?
What do you want to manifest in the New Year?

Join Melissa Light, RYT 200/Health Coach, for an afternoon of yoga, deep intention setting, and connection. In this 3 hour workshop we will move through a creative yoga flow, allowing us to tap into our sacral and throat chakra centers. Class will end with a guided meditation focusing on the third eye center, the seat of our intuition and imagination. During meditation we will utilize a mudra and essential oils, which will invite us to ground down in order to drop deep into our visions for the New Year. The final 1.5 hours we will spend creating our vision boards for 2018!

Wayne Dyer, a guru in self-development, stated, "You see it when you believe it". What do you want to see in 2018? Vision boards are a creative and beautiful way to influence our minds and harness our intentions to bring about positive change. They are a nice daily reminder to keep us motivated of what it is we want in our life.

All materials will be provided (canvases, markers, magazines, glue). Please feel free to bring a journal, quotes, pictures, or anything else you would like to include on your vision board!

Cost: $35 if registered by 12/16, $40 after 12/16

Yoga and Healthy Digestion with Melissa Light Sun, Jan 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Do you struggle with digestive issues?  Do you often feel bloated, gassy or just experience an overall feeling of discomfort after eating?
 
Join Melissa Light RYT 200/Health Coach for an afternoon centered around cultivating healthy digestion.
 
In this two hour workshop we will take a brief look at the digestive system.  We will investigate not only how our food choices may impact our digestion, but also how our emotional and mental states play a role in our ability to process food.  You will learn ways to improve your digestion not only through diet, but also yoga and mindfulness techniques.  We will experiment with different yoga postures that aid in and support digestion. While exploring diet, we will also look at other holistic supplements and methods that can aid in creating a healthy gut.
 
Open to anyone wishing to attend.  No prior yoga experience required.
